We had our son! I have been dying to write about his birth story and plan to do so this week, but being the Type A person I am, I have to post about my third trimester first.
This pregnancy was very easy on me. I feel very fortunate for that. Towards the end, I got the usual aches and pains everyone talks about, and finding comfortable sleep positions at night was a challenge. I am a back sleeper, and they advise you not to sleep on your back while pregnant, as it might cut off blood supply to the baby. Many mornings, I found myself on my back and felt really guilty, but I couldn’t help it. And I’m pretty sure my baby is just fine, so I’m hoping it didn’t negatively impact him too much.
I couldn’t leave the house without my Tums, as heartburn was almost an everyday occurrence. I also found myself more emotional this last trimester, mainly crying about the fact that my son will grow up someday and leave me. Obviously, I want him to grow up and have a wonderful life, but the thought of him already leaving made me emotional. Got to love pregnancy hormones!
During this last trimester, Seth and I packed, cleaned, organized, cooked and prepped. I went through a major nesting phase and I couldn't vacuum enough dog hair.
We even had some time to do a pregnancy belly body cast. You should have seen Seth and me during the making of this project. We laid plastic tarp down on the nursery floor and I had to sit naked on an exercise ball, leaning backwards with my hands hanging on the crib. It was a very uncomfortable position and I got a little impatient with Seth as he placed plaster gauze pieces onto my lubed body. It was quite a show.
Here are the last few bump pictures of my pregnancy with Baby Johnson. Stay tuned for a post about Baby’s birth story. I cannot wait to share it with you!
